FANS are concerned after Savannah Guthrie was unexpectedly removed from an interview on the Today show.
The anchor was pulled during a commercial break and replaced with Hoda Kotb.
During Wednesday’s broadcast, Savannah introduced Anne Hathaway, who is promoting her upcoming musical drama, Mother Mary.
“I’m the luckiest girl right here. I’ve got Anne Hathaway right here, Mother Mary herself,” Savannah said.
“She has a sneak peek at her new movie and we have talked a little bit about The Devil Wears Prada 2.”
“Just a little bit,” Anne teased.
But after the show returned from commercial break, Hoda conducted the interview with Anne.
No explanation was given for her abrupt absence, but Savannah returned to the show later for a food segment with the rest of the anchors.
Hoda has been filling in for Craig Melvin since on Monday while he goes on vacation.
Savannah and Hoda reunited as anchors for the first time since Hoda stepped down from the Today show on January 10, 2025.
The pair became the first female co-hosts in 2018 when Hoda joined the anchor desk.
Despite stepping back from the Today show, Hoda has been filling in for Savannah since her mother was abducted on February 1.
Savannah returned to the show on April 6 and said, “it’s good to be home.”
Savannah returned to 30 Rock for the first time in March for a private reunion with her co-workers.
She later sat down for an emotional interview with Hoda to plead for information on her missing mom, Nancy.
The anchor’s 84-year-old mother, Nancy Guthrie, was taken from her Tucson area home in the early morning hours of February 1.
